DIPLOCAT collaborates with EYE Catalunya to promote Catalan creators internationally
Second interview season started last March 10th on the evening in Barcelona and was live streamed worldwide
The Public Diplomacy Council of Catalonia (DIPLOCAT) started last March 10th a new collaboration with EYE Catalunya, a technological platform created to internationally promote Catalan creators trough a monthly program that is streamed worldwide through the internet. This collaboration coincided with the second season of interviews which started the same day on the evening in Barcelona (20.30h / Biblioteca de Catalunya / free access).
EYE Catalunya interviews every month three innovative and creative persons, from different fields, working in Catalonia. The three creator guests on March 10th were Gustavo Deco, director of the Computational Neuroscience Group & the Center for Brain and Cognition at the UPF; Andreu Meixide, filmmaker, cultural programmer and architect, director of the BccN Barcelona Creative Commons Film Festival; and Ester Bonal, choir conductor and music teacher, who uses music as a tool for social integration with children.
The program is very simple and allows worldwide interaction, as all talks are simultaneously translated into English. Each guest has 6 minutes to explain his or her project, 6 more to be interviewed and 6 to answer questions from the audience in the room or following the event via internet. The program conductor and responsible of EYE Catalunya is Patricia Caicedo, a soprano, musicologist and physician who develops projects in the fields of music, communications, education and technological innovation.
Gustavo Deco, director of the Computational Neuroscience Group & the Center for Brain and Cognition at the UPF, talked about his research and explained how the brain works in networks.
Ester Bonal, choir conductor and music teacher, explained how she uses the arts as a tool for social integration with the children of the multicultural Raval district in Barcelona.
Andreu Meixide, filmmaker, cultural programmer and architect, director of the BccN Barcelona Creative Commons Film Festival, talked about the intellectual property in the digital era and his task as a documentalist.
